Cluny Place House
Cluny Place House – A home not a building
We have 32 rooms and 34 residents in Cluny Place House and this year we initiated a review of our long-term mission priorities for the House. The Director and Advice worker have been meeting with individual residents with the aim of:
a) Offering pastoral support
b) Offering benefits and budgeting advice - especially to those falling into arrears
c) Encouraging residents to feel part of the wider Mission and to feel welcome to participate in worship and outreach were appropriate
d) Helping those who no-longer need low-cost housing to move on and make space for those in greater need
We have seen an increased participation of residents in the activities of the Mission and sharing in prayer and worship. We are pleased to have residents volunteering at the night-shelter and in packing food-parcels. We have three residents now who were formally Robes night-shelter guests. We have also welcomed several referrals from the Manna Day-Centre.
